TPOTY at the Royal Geographical Society in London

One of the joys of doing well in TPOTY is having your images displayed at the TPOTY exhibitions and being seen by thousands, sometimes millions, of people.

The home of the Travel Photographer of the Year exhibitions is the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). The Society's gallery is situated close to Hyde Park on the corner of Kensington Gore and Exhibition Road, and adjacent to the Royal Albert Hall, in the heart of London's museum area.

2012 exhibition attracts 42,404 visitors!

This year's exhibition closed on 2nd September and was one of the most popular attractions of the London Olympic summer. Visitor numbers trebled from last year's first exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and the final day also broke the daily visitor record with 1,832 people taking up the last chance to view the extensive displays of contemporary and historical photography.

This year's exhibition extended from the gallery onto the terrace, then down onto the lawn. It was an oasis of calm in the heart of busy London. Amongst the photographs there was plenty of space to relax, enjoy a coffee, to sample one of Theresa's very popular and extremely tasty cakes and to meet the elephants!

A special exhibition for 2013

In 2013 TPOTY will stage its 10th anniversary exhibition and we've got some special plans and exhibits to entertain you.

The exhibition will open to the public on Friday 12th July and run until Sunday 18th August. It'll be open every day during that period with some late openings as well. More details will follow shortly....

And there's more… we're moving Travel Photography Live! - three days of photography talks and workshops at the Society - to coincide with the exhibition period so you'll have the chance to learn from some of the world's leading photographers, writers and travellers as well as seeing the images exhibited. Travel Photography Live 2013 will also include several evenings in conversation with renowned photographers. Click here to learn more.
